Envoy Trial Access
CharlieVASP is our testing node. Access to CharlieVASP is by request only. Contact us to receive trial credentials.
Step 1. Log In
CharlieVASP is our sandbox VASP for secure testing. URL: https://charlie.vaspbot.com/login
You must request temporary log in credentials to access CharlieVASP. Email envoy@rotational.io to request access.
Step 2. Review Customer Data (start here)
Envoy messages reference stored customer and wallet data. Valid IVMS101 data is required.
- Go to Customer Accounts
- Open a test customer (e.g., Ada Lovelace – fictitious data)
- Confirm:
- Originator wallet address
- IVMS101 data checks
- Copy the originator wallet address for use in message testing below
Why this matters: Envoy messages reference stored customer and wallet data. Valid IVMS101 data is required.
Optional: Create a new test customer in Customer Accounts.
Step 3. Send a TRISA Message (native protocol)
While Envoy is protocol-agnostic, TRISA is the protocol native to Envoy. The TRISA protocol ensures encrypted, peer-to-peer Travel Rule messaging between trusted VASPs.
- Click Send New Transfer in the Transaction Inbox
- Select Send TRISA Message
- Select Rotational VASP from the counterparty dropdown
- Paste the originator wallet address (from Step 2)
- Enter:
- Beneficiary wallet address (test address is acceptable or generate a fake wallet address)
- Amount
- Network (BTC, ETH, etc.)
- Submit
Four required fields: Originator wallet address, Beneficiary wallet address, Amount, Network.
We will respond to confirm receipt.
Step 4. Send a Sunrise Message (email fallback)
Sunrise enables Travel Rule data exchange when a counterparty does not support TRISA or TRP.
- Navigate to Counterparties → Daybreak
- Search for TestVASP
- Select Send Sunrise Message (by clicking the ellipses)
- Enter:
- Originator wallet address (from Step 2)
- Beneficiary wallet address
- Amount
- Network
- Submit
We will respond to your Sunrise message.
Step 5. Send a TRP Message (interoperable 3rd-party protocol)
TRP stands for Travel Rule Protocol and is maintained by OpenVASP. TRP is not supported by TRISA. Like TRISA, TRP is an open source protocol. Unlike TRISA, TRP does not maintain a directory of counterparties that use TRP as a messaging protocol. The only method to obtain a travel address – a unique identifier to send travel rule messages – is to ask the counterparty. Testing is recommended for evaluation purposes only.
- TRP requires a valid travel address for the counterparty and has a reference example travel addresses here: https://gitlab.com/OpenVASP/interoperability
- Envoy automatically generates a travel address for each customer you create.
- Click Send New Transfer in the Transaction Inbox
- Select Send TRP Message
- Enter:
- Originator wallet address (from Step 2)
- Travel address (counterparty)
- Amount
- Network
- Submit
Note: We cannot respond to TRP test messages since we do not maintain the TRP testing servers. Please contact the OpenVASP board for testing purposes: board@openvasp.org.
Additional Capabilities & Notes
