How It Works

Applying the Certificate Authority Model to Reliably Identify and Verify VASPs

The CA model has been used across the Internet for over 20 years to establish trust across untrusted networks and secure everything from e-commerce to internet banking and government communications. TRISA applies the same proven trust models, audit procedures, issuance and revocation mechanisms to Travel Rule compliance.

1. Verify

Every VASP is vetted by the TRISA Global Directory Service and issued an x.509 certificate before it can exchange data.

2. Connect

Your Envoy node looks up the counterparty and picks the best route: TRISA, TRP, or Sunrise email for VASPs on no network.

3. Exchange

Travel Rule data moves directly between VASPs, encrypted end to end, with no third party holding your customers' information.

Global VASP Directory and TRISA Certificate Authority Enables Trusted Information Sharing

TRISA Directory and Certificate Authority (CA) the community is able verify the authenticity of VASPs through Public Key Infrastructure (PKI). PKI is a trusted security building block adopted from the International Standardization Organization (ISO), used for e-commerce and government communications

Translation Layer Delivers Critical Interoperability

Multiple approaches have emerged to address travel rule obligations and the specific needs of individual geographies, creating a complex web of many-to-many message translation requirements for global interoperability. The TRISA translation interface simplifies the complexity of many-to-many message protocol interpretation.
